Seriously, I'm so embarrassed. I thought "gangs" were long gone. It's so 3 decades ago. Today, there were MANY fights that happened during Sac Cal-Expo New Year. Not fun at all. New years originally come around once a year for us to celebrate our heritage and hopefully meet old and new buddies/relatives and for those that don't have a soul-mate, to find one. But instead, these "gangs" think of it as an annual event where they get to come and glare at each other and chase each other around. So not cool.

There will always be gangsters running around and beating each other up at the new year or any event has to do with hmong. I gave up on those events, it's only kids that go nowadays. I find myself looking very pathetic there because there's so many kids.lol

Their not smart enough to realize they are still living in the past and that the world is changing around them right before their eyes.

Hmmmm. I went to the HNY here in MN and didn't encounter any gangsters or fights what-so-ever. Everyone was just doing their own thing and minding their own business. Or so that's how it appeared to me. I do see what you mean there about gangsters just such an occassion like the new year to come bust each other up. It's sad to know that at such a time when we should come together as a whole, we find our own kind turning on each other. Can't people set their differences aside for just this short moment and embrace in celebrating the growth of Hmong culture?

speaking of fighting at new year, there was a fight at the football tornament also...
the team that had a fight was MYYYYYYYY TEAMMMMMMMMMMM. it was hecka kool. my team had a fight with another team from fresno. we heard that they were going to hit us hard and everything. so that even made the game more interesting. after the first quater into the second we were going to make a touchdown and they had stop one of our play. so this other guy from the other team started talking crap and one of our guy started talking crap also. then they started walking to eachother and then the other guy swing at our guy then i rush over to stop the fight. we thought they were playing around at first bcuz they were smiling. but they swing. the game was stop and the other team got disqualified so we advance. taht time ws getting dark so not alot of pple saw it. lucky cops didnt see it. found out that they were related by in-law. IT WAS FUNNNNNNNNNN...this was on saturday...
