Pick up the dang phone!

So one day I was being a nuisance to my brothers and them.  With them off for college and only coming home when time called for it, I’ve always wanted to catch up to see what was new with them. Anyways, this one time I was there and one of my brother’s girlfriend called. He was still playing online video games so he pretended not to notice. I was just like, “Aren’t you going to pick up her call?” With his eyes glued to the computer screen, he shrugs his shoulders and just focuses on his game. And in case you are wondering, yes, my brother loves his girlfriend dearly; actually he might spoil her way too much. Not the point though.

Continuing on….

Later, I found out the gf was rather PO with my brother.

I don’t know, is this a woman thing? You expect him to pick up. And when he doesn’t, he’s asking for the little angry woman bitch to come out. Guys, do you fret when you call your significant other and they don’t pick up after a few times?

I've been guilty of doing that before.  I've never been much of a phone person .... sometimes I'm just not in the mood to talk.  Or sometimes I'll be so engulfed in a good book or a good movie that I just don't want to stop in the middle of it to talk on the phone...even if I might really love that other person.  

It generally doesn't bother me much if he doesn't pick up. With my past relationship, the only time I might get upset at him for not picking up my phonecall is when we had just got done arguing or fighting and we're pissed off at each other and I need to talk to him to make sure everything's okay before I call is a night (because I HATE going to bed being mad & upset). I want things to be on good terms. But instead of reconciling, he would purposely ignore my phonecalls just because he knows it pisses me off even more ... and then when he does pick up, the total witch in me comes out.

Other than that, I like to think I'm pretty chill.

I rather talk face to face than on a phone, it's just more personal that way for friends.
I don't mind the missed calls, maybe the person I'm calling is busy at the moment. I'll just
text or leave a voicemail.

i would have been piss of too if my bf did that [but no worries bc i dont have one =]... i dont know why guys do that though ... hummmmm ... im trying to put myself in the situation where im the one not picking up the phone ... if thinking about it ... i think i can understand why people do that [but than again it really depends on the situation =]

yeah i picked up every non blocked calls...
replied to every stupid chain letters...
and i mean every single one sent to me...

How would one know? We just don't make guesses like that. Can't be like..."Oh, that must not be an important call so I won't answer." One time I neglected to answer my phone from mom because I thought she was just going to lecture me about being home at such and such time and later found out that my mom was trying to call me because she got into a car accident. Lesson learned.

And "importance" can be taken in so many ways. Would you consider a flat tire important? Would you consider someone who needs help with their homework important? Would you consider someone who needs water important? Would you consider someone in need of a talk because he/she is in an emotional wreck important? *rolls eyes*

I'm usually cool if people can't get to the phone when I call too. But if I get the sense that they are just purposely ignoring me...they might as well hide. I'm going to get PO..for sure. Well, maybe not to the point of snapping but it would be enough to just cause a little drama.

Agreed. Face-to-face conversations are better. Although with everyone's busy lifestyles, we can't always accommodate to meet whenever we want to talk.

Good thing...put yourself in the other perspective. So often we become selfish...it's always...ME, ME, ME! Maybe the guys has their reasons for not picking up. It's kinda like...it's okay if I do it...but if he does it to me...he better be running. hahaha. Either way we look at it, the guys are always getting in trouble.

I honestly think it's just a women thing. You say something and a women would interpret the meaning to a whole new meaning. For me, I don't really care if she doesn't pick up just because I want her to have her own privacy. I mean, yeah, she could've picked up but she didn't. But she knows in her mind that I did call her and she does have a phone, so one day... She'll call back. lol. But I can't say much no more. I'm already married...

ok i got to admit i do this alot.

i could be in the middle of an intense game with others, XD.
and in the meantime i don't want to die or something. so i'll just look and talk to the phone.
i'll call you in a bit, hold up. (course no one hears, lol)
and eventually i forget when i am able to call.

if you want to get a guy's attention and you're not with him. i suggest getting on the game with him.

either get on the same computer game and type a message.

or if on the video game, just hook up a headset and talk. lol.
